Jianping Xu, 52, competes with Canadian Masters Athletics. He trains six times a week, enters more than 20 races a year and race walks 12 kilometres an hour. The professor of microbiology and father of four says he stays young because he’s not afraid to fail. “Find an organization that fuels your passions and stay active.”
Canadian Masters Athletics (CMA) pioneered active athletics for the young at heart (35-105), is recognized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) and has partnered with the IAAF as Canada’s only national body responsible for Masters Athletic affairs.
